Alligator Hunting in Florida

Florida’s alligator hunting season typically runs from mid-August to early November, offering hunters the opportunity to legally harvest these reptiles under strict regulations. The statewide alligator harvest program is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), which issues a limited number of permits through a lottery system. The season is divided into phases, with specific hunting periods assigned to permit holders. Hunting is allowed only in designated areas and during certain hours, ensuring a controlled and sustainable harvest.
